Making a living selling free ideas

Seth Godin’s tribe theories were featured in a TED talk not long ago, and is closely linked to the fascinating 1000 true fans theory.  When I heard them, these ideas changed my worldview.

Godin continues to rock my world. The author of 10 best-selling books here shares some of his wisdom with the publishing industry. The thesis?

  • Authors are idea merchants.
  • Ideas that spread farther are more successful.
  • Ideas that are free spread faster.
  • Authors monetize ideas by selling souvenirs (books, CDs, meda)

    VERY INTERESTING! I will have to watch this a few more times, when my kids don’t need my every attention.
